Our Values

VVDB is based on a set of core values about training, evaluation, research, and consultation. These values are closely linked to a set of international core community (values for systems of care). VVDB believes that values are not truly values unless they are carried out in practice. VVDB is dedicated to carrying out these values in all of our work, and in constantly improving our craft, as illustrated by the words of John Ruskin: "Thy life so short, thy craft so long to learn". Specific values for VVDB:

  • To model the values of wraparound and systems of care

  • To be a good value for the money

  • To be sensitive to community strengths and needs

  • We believe in cultural competency as being an absolute necessity

  • We believe in parent professional partnership at all levels of the  system of care and
    program development

  • To be constantly learning and evolving our work

  • VVDB staff and consultants must be among the best in their fields

  • To practice our values about families with our own families
