Carl Schick
Trainer Coach
Carl's work is focused on high fidelity wraparound implementation at the practice, organization, and the funding and policy levels. He has provided coaching, consultation and training to support high fidelity wraparound implementation in 45 states.
|
As a part of the Vroon VanDenBerg team, he is currently managing a nationally recognized statewide system reform effort in Maine and is providing wraparound coaching and consultation in St. Cloud, Minn., a SAMHSA System of Care grant site. His focus in these and all wraparound implementation efforts is improved outcomes for children and families as well as sustainability of the wraparound process.
In the not-for-profit sector, Carl co-founded a small community-based wraparound program that has become the largest provider agency in Missouri. This agency implemented wraparound at every level throughout all services. He functioned as the Chief Operating Officer for five years and was responsible for development and operations of all programs, contract compliance, integration with other community providers, outcome evaluation and personnel issues. He worked at the State policy and funding level to establish unique provider contracts to allow for all wraparound principals including flexible funding and integration of existing regional residential providers with local community-based wraparound services.
Perhaps most importantly, Carl has managed a wraparound team of professionals and natural supports to support one of his own family members who has a serious and persistent mental illness. This family member has successfully lived in the community, with a comprehensive support and crisis/safety plan and a mostly predictable life. The wraparound process has given Carl's family member stability, self-determination, and hope for the last 16 years.
