Dave Simpson
Trainer Coach
Dave is one of the newest consultants and coaches with Vroon VanDenBerg, and has many years experience implementing wraparound in local agencies. He was the first credentialed wraparound facilitator and the first credentialed wraparound trainer for the State of Maine. These efforts were recently awarded a major recognition as an important development in human services, by the Casey Family Foundation.

Dave works at a local agency in Portland Maine, which in 2002 contracted with Vroon VanDenBerg to help weave the wraparound process into all levels of the agency. Later, as Maine contracted with Vroon VanDenBerg, Dave was selected to support statewide training and coaching. These efforts are now largely self-sustaining in Maine, and Dave continues to implement the wraparound process in his agency.
Dave used the process of high fidelity wraparound to effectively change the culture of two Maine residential treatment centers, resulting in strong functional outcomes at the family and youth level, and dramatic reductions of lengths of stays and nearly 100 percent discharge rates to family. One of his programs became the nation's first group home to use the wraparound process to support a length of stay of five to ten days. Within Maine, he is a member of the statewide High Fidelity Wraparound Governing Council; the Cumberland County (Maine) Community Collaborative Board; the Lewiston/Auburn Community Mobilization Team; and nationally, is a voting member of the National Wraparound Initiative.
