Coaching & Supervising Wraparound Training

The 3-day wraparound coach and supervisor training introduces experienced wraparound staff and supervisors to the details of effective coaching and supervision for facilitators and family support partners in the implementation of high fidelity wraparound. The curriculum focuses on a competency based process for supporting these staff to provide fidelity wraparound as quickly as possible.

The curriculum has five primary sections:
  • The first section defines the process of initial training for new wraparound facilitators and family support partners using the VVDB curriculum and videos.

  • The second section examines the process of partnering with wraparound staff to create a strengths-based culture of learning and ongoing individualized professional development plans.

  • The third section includes specific coaching strategies including shadowing, behavioral rehearsal, live coaching, individual coaching, group coaching and peer to peer coaching.

  • The third section includes specific strengths based supervision strategies including staff recruitment and selection, individual supervision, group supervision, competency and outcome based evaluation, supervision within the system of care and supporting the strengths based culture of learning through supervision.

  • The final section teaches the student coach the skills for doing the credentialing assessments for new facilitators and family support partners.
Participants who successfully complete the 3-day course will be able to enroll in a credentialing process through which they demonstrate the fundamental coaching skills and use VVDB videos and curriculum to train and credential wraparound facilitators. This process involves support from VVDB staff and can be completed in the coach’s home community. A variety of plans are available for this which can be tailored to coach and community.
