Wraparound Innovations

Vroon VanDenBerg offers training and consultation to support residential treatment programs, to assist states in curbing recidivism for adult offenders and to faith communities who are looking to improve support to at-risk community members.

Individualized Residential Treatment

The field of residential treatment is currently undergoing major shifts in practice models. VVDB has staff who have been directors of some of the nation's most creative and individualized residential treatment programs. They have developed specialized training and consultation to support residential treatment centers that are modifying their programs to support greater individualization and generalization of treatment back to the community after discharge. Beginning with an assessment of current practice, VVDB staff recommend key enhancements and support implementation through training, coaching, and ongoing consultation.

Re-Entry for Adult Offenders

Recidivism for adult offenders is a growing societal problem, with rates of recidivism reaching over half of all adult offenders released from prison. VVDB has over five years of experience implementing the wraparound process with this population, and has established safety-focused protocols and technical assistance in this area. VVDB supported research in Oklahoma has shown amazing reductions in recidivism with highly individualized re-entry support which begins six months prior to release from prison. VVDB offers training, technical assistance, coaching and consultation to states who are concerned about growing recidivism.

Faith-Based Wraparound

The wraparound process is uniquely relevant to faith communities as a method of providing support to faith community members who have complex life needs. VVDB has supported a number of faith communities in the U.S. and Canada to establish a formal wraparound process within the walls of their congregations. VVDB offers training, technical assistance, coaching, and consultation to faith communities who are interested in doing an even better job of supporting vulnerable or at-risk community members.
