VVDB Mission
- Our mission is to expand access to high fidelity wraparound to youth and families across North America and globally.
- Our work is focused on the various aspects of wraparound needed to implement and sustain wraparound with good outcomes and high quality.
- Our mission is based on the fact that the primary enemy of good wraparound practice is drift. We are committed to supporting communities to avoid practice model drift over time through use of state of the art training, coaching, and consultation.
- Our mission is in supporting communities to sustain high fidelity wraparound on their own, through highly competent staff and strong local leadership.
VVDB Values
VVDB is based on a set of core values about training, evaluation, research and consultation. These values are closely linked to the set of core values for wraparound and systems of care. VVDB believes that values are truly held only when they are consistently followed. VVDB is dedicated to carrying out these values in all of our work, and in constantly improving our craft, as illustrated by the words of John Ruskin: "Thy life so short, thy craft so long to learn."
VVDB believes. . .
- Wraparound should focus on supporting families to control their own futures and have the skills, confidence and supports to do so.
- Professional services are an important resource for families but long term support comes from family, friends, faith and other natural supports and that including them in wraparound strengthens a family's chance of long term success.
- In modeling the values of wraparound and systems of care in our work.
- In being sensitive to community strengths and needs while striving for fidelity to the wraparound model.
- That cultural competency is an absolute necessity at all levels of our work.
- In parent professional partnership at all levels of wraparound and in the system of care and program development.
- In constantly learning and evolving our work based on continuous quality improvement.
- The measure of success of our training and coaching is the skill acquisition of staff to produce performance fidelity and youth and family outcomes.
- Training and coaching should be tailored to the developmental levels and priorities of the participants and support continual development of their self-efficacy.
- Local consultation should be tailored to the unique culture, strengths and needs of each community.
