We are launching the revised VVDB website because we are very excited that the next enhancement in Wrapround (MiiWrap) will significantly improve outcomes for youth and families.

The VROON VDB Team met with Wraparound experts from across North America from May 1st through May 3rd to roll out the newest version of Wraparound…MiiWrap. MiiWrap is the integration of Motivational Interviewing into Wraparound. We met at the scenic Red Rocks Conference Center just outside of Denver Colorado and experienced laughter, learning, sunshine and snow!

The group of 21 prepared for the meeting by reading the MiiWrap manual and providing suggestions before arriving. During the three-day event attendees were introduced to the MiiWrap:

  • Mindset and Principles
  • Specific Relational Skills to build Engagement
  • Specific Behavior Change Skills to increase motivation, self-efficacy and follow through
  • Revised Behavior Change Activities that have steps enhanced by Motivational Interviewing

The group provided feedback and enthusiasm for the launch of this new approach to working with individuals and families with severe and complex needs. While many things were accomplished during this time together, the creation of the MiiWrap Learning Community is one that we are most excited about. This effort will allow members to maintain a hands-on approach to the implementation of the model. The Learning Community will include blogs, teleconferencing, on line coaching and other media platforms to assist in the implementation of MiiWrap. We are so excited about MiiWrap that we would like to involve everyone that wants to learn a new approach for working with complex youth and families and those who want to improve their outcomes from Wraparound.  We would love to hear from you.
