We have been on the cutting edge of Wraparound for decades, always fighting the good fight to expand access to and the quality and impact of wrap services across the continent. Now we are all about MiiWrap. Why the change?
MiiWrap was created out of our desire to improve outcomes for youth and families. While doing wraparound for decades, we saw many places where the outcomes weren’t what we expected for too many families. From our desire to continually improve, we set out to find how to help more youth and families be successful. That desire, and a lot of research, is how MiiWrap came to be. For many people, MiiWrap just works better.
With improving the process to better serve more families at MiiWrap’s roots, we think it’s natural that research and development continues to stay central to MiiWrap’s growth and development. An integral part of our mission is to continually improve MiiWrap and the way we teach it.
There are many sources of our continual learning. One is you. People engaging in MiiWrap at all levels, from organizational implementation to in-the-field service provision to families receiving MiiWrap, each have a unique perspective on what works and what doesn’t. We value those perspectives. And we know that others in the MiiWrap community do as well.
We want to give you the opportunity to be a part of developing MiiWrap, too. And we want to aid in your continual learning. With that commitment to your learning and ours, we would like to formally invite you to join the MiiWrap learning community.
The MiiWrap learning community is a group of people who engage in MiiWrap development, implementation, and support. We have the shared goal of better outcomes and improving the way we interact with families. The purpose of the community is to bring us all together to make the best changes, quickest. Pick your adage, because we believe the saying are true: the sum is better than the parts, two brains are better than one, and teamwork makes the dream work. A learning community boosts your skills, network, and resources. It gives you a place to ask questions and access FAQs. It also gives you a place to answer questions from people implementing MiiWrap across North America.
Any topic is fair game: learning basic MiiWrap skills, growing your organizations capacity, researching implementation, even making your own organization into a learning organization.
So what will our learning community look like?
The MiiWrap learning community is an online forum for learning and discussion. Hosted on our website, it includes
- Answers to frequently asked questions
- Ask me anything’s with MiiWrap experts
- Discussion boards that span all MiiWrap topics, from implementation to organization
- Resources that we’ve created and that members find elsewhere
All MiiWrap learners are welcome to join. Organization leaders, supervisors, program evaluators, coaches, and field staff all have learning to do and experience to share.
The purpose of the learning community is to bring together people practicing MiiWrap at all levels. This will aid in continual learning and skills development, and increase engagement in MiiWrap. The goals are then to:
- Foster active discussion boards to aid in learning and expertise sharing
- Provide resources and make a place for the sharing of other resources
- Create a space where learners can help other learners
- Respond to the experience of MiiWrap users to continually improve MiiWrap
We think this learning community will be a great companion to the MiiWrap training we offer. Any way to enhance and supplement learning and development is a good thing.
Putting it into action
